Arizona Bead Blasting uses a proven 5-step pool tile cleaning process to safely remove stubborn calcium deposits, hard water scale, and buildup from pool tile and PebbleTec® surfaces. Our professional glass bead and salt blasting process can clean most pools in two hours or less, delivering fast, effective results without harsh chemicals or draining your pool.
STEP 1
We Lower the Water Level by 6 Inches
Before we begin the pool blasting process, we lower the water level in your swimming pool. Not to worry — we won’t empty it or waste water. We only lower the water level below the tile line by about 6 inches. We do this to have clear access to the calcium deposits on your pool tile or Pebble Tec. The water is drained to your sewer washout using a submersible pump.
STEP 2
We Prepare for the Cleaning
After the water reaches the proper level, we enter the pool with specialized equipment designed for professional pool tile cleaning. Depending on the surface and the type of buildup, we use either glass bead blasting or salt blasting to achieve the best results.
Glass bead blasting is highly effective for removing stubborn calcium and mineral deposits from many pool tile and PebbleTec surfaces. For delicate glass, black, or decorative pool tile, salt blasting provides a gentler cleaning option. Both methods use low pressure to safely remove buildup while protecting the appearance of the pool surface.
STEP 3
We Remove the Calcium
Once we’re in the water and our equipment is in place, we apply glass beads or Kieserite salt to the appropriate pool tile or PebbleTec surface at low pressure. This carefully removes calcium, mineral buildup, and chemical residue. The specially designed system we use for pool blasting has a self-contained vacuum built into the machine that returns the deposits as it removes them from the waterline. This prevents additional foreign objects from falling into your swimming pool.
STEP 4
We Wipe Down Your Pool to Reveal the Shine
Once blasting is finished, we wipe down the surface by hand to remove any additional residue that may still appear on the waterline. You’ll instantly see how the pool calcium removal process has completely freed your pool tile or PebbleTec surface of any stains or residue. After the residue has been removed and the tile has dried, we apply a polish to promote tile shine. The pool tile surface will be clean and glossy. Arizona Bead Blasting does not seal pool tile.
STEP 5
We Clean Your Pool
In this last step, we use our own portable vacuum system to sweep the glass beads out of your swimming pool. There’s no mess for you to clean up! The pool calcium cleaning process is complete. The process normally takes about two hours for a regular-sized swimming pool (90 linear ft.).
