A Recent Pool Tile Calcium Removal Job in San Tan Valley
The homeowner called Arizona Bead Blasting after noticing a stubborn calcium line across the tile of his three-year-old swimming pool. We discussed the pool dimensions, agreed on a price, and scheduled the cleaning.
When we arrived, the pool had already been drained. The pool itself was in great shape, but a roughly 1½-inch band of white and gray calcium buildup ran across the dark pool tile. With the water out of the way, we could get straight to work.
We used our salt blasting method to remove the deposits, and the calcium came off more easily than expected. About an hour later, the tile looked clean again. Before we left, the homeowner shared that he was a Vietnam veteran. We thanked him for his service, and he thanked us for taking care of his pool.

How We Removed the Calcium
Inspect the Tile
We inspected the dark pool tile and identified a roughly 1½-inch band of white and gray calcium along the waterline. The pool had already been drained before we arrived.
Remove the Scale
With the pool already drained, we used salt blasting to remove the calcium deposits from the dark tile. The buildup came off more easily than expected.
Clean Up & Finish
We finished cleaning the tile and checked the waterline for remaining deposits. The dark tile was visible again without the white calcium band.
The Difference Is in the Tile
A stubborn calcium waterline removed from dark pool tile in San Tan Valley. The contrast between the scaled tile and the cleaned surface shows what salt blasting can accomplish.
The Result
After about an hour of salt blasting, the thick white calcium line was gone, revealing the dark pool tile underneath. The deposits came off easier than expected, and the difference was impressive. What had started as an unsightly buildup around a three-year-old swimming pool was now a clean, attractive waterline.
The best part of the job came afterward. Our homeowner, Carl, was a former Navy SEAL and Vietnam veteran. As he thanked us for cleaning his pool, we had the opportunity to thank him for something far more important — his service to our country. We extend that same gratitude to all the men and women who have served in our armed forces.
Pool Tile Cleaning in San Tan Valley, AZ
Calcium buildup is a common problem for swimming pools throughout San Tan Valley and the East Valley. Over time, those deposits can cover the color and finish of ceramic, porcelain, and mosaic pool tile. Arizona Bead Blasting specializes in professional pool tile calcium removal using our salt blasting method to remove mineral deposits and restore the appearance of swimming pool tile.
